Mike is currently the Vice President of Operations at BeachMint, a next generation eCommerce company based in Santa Monica, CA. The company is focused on social and curated commerce and is backed by New Enterprise Associates and Anthem Ventures.
He is also the Chief Operations Officer at Caramba Kids, a software startup developing an online education site for dual language children based on the music of prominent singer and song writer Jose-Luis Orozco.
In addition, Mike is a founding member of www.students4startups.com, an organization dedicated to connecting top students to exciting startups in the greater Los Angeles area.
He began his career in technology startups as one of the first few employees at WaferTech, a $1.5B computer chip manufacturing joint venture outside of Portland, OR. There, he worked as a Production Manager building the largest semiconductor foundry in the US, literally from the ground up. He also managed the Site Training Department which served technical and professional training for the company’s 1000 employees. WaferTech was bought out by its largest joint venture partner, TSMC, in August 2000.
In 2006, Mike left WaferTech to work as Director of Operations at Koders Inc., a software startup in Los Angeles, CA developing the first vertical search engine for open source software code. At Koders, he managed design and implementation of company operational systems while providing direction for corporate strategy and product rollout. Koders was sold to Black Duck Software in April 2008.
In addition, Mike worked as VP of Business Development for Seethroo, Inc. a software startup in Los Angeles, CA which provides behavioral targeting data to ad networks on social media Web sites. At Seethroo, Mike established business partnerships, fundraising and built a strong foundation for company growth.
Mike has a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech.
