Mike Ford

Mike Ford is the Founder & CEO of TownConnect, a social media startup dedicated to organizing and uniting families, friends and organization in local communities. He decided to start TownConnect after coaching his kids sports teams and volunteering at their school. Every local group seems to face the same problems organizing, communicating and scheduling their members and activities. Ford designed TownConnect with his town in mind believes other towns across the US (and beyond) will enjoy it too.

Before TownConnect, Ford was Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Did-it Search Marketing, a leading interactive agency focused on auction based media. Did-it’s clients include E*TRADE, Cingular Wireless, Match.com, and Register.com. They managed client’s paid search advertising ($120+ Million in spend) on Google, Yahoo & MSN. Prior to Did-it, I led vertical business development for Quigo Technologies in NYC where Ford developed key publisher partnerships with PGATour.com, Golf Digest, Robb Report, IDG and Boston.com.

Ford’s first raw startup, Computer.com, began in my garage in 1999. Computer.com was a highly publicized, computer portal site for novice computer users. It raised several million in VC, developed the site and launched during the now infamous dotcom Super Bowl in 2000. Ford eventually sold Computer.com to what became Office Depot’s tech center.

Ford has been a guest speaker for Inc. Magazine’s CEO Conference, Webmaster World, and Boston College and have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Boston Globe, NY Times, Ad Week, Ad Age, San Jose Mercury News, Boston Business Journal, Mass High Tech, The Today Show and Good Morning America.
