Entrepreneur
Mickey Beyer-Clausen is the Founder and CEO of Pervasive Media.
In the 1990s, he became one of the first to launch and develop successful Internet businesses with an emphasis on domain names. In 1997, Beyer-Clausen founded Internet Payment Systems, an online payment gateway, followed by Speednames in 1999 that became one of the most versatile domain name search and registration engines in the world. In 2001, Speednames was divided into two business units - a retail unit and a wholesale unit - to increase services provided to ISPs and telcos. Today, the wholesale unit, Ascio, is a provider of private label solutions to over 300 telecom operators, web hosting companies, Internet access providers, and IP law firms throughout Europe. Both Speednames and Ascio were acquired January 17, 2007 by Group NBT.
During his time with Speednames, Beyer-Clausen co-founded Afilias in 2000, the exclusive registry for .info - the Internet’s first unrestricted top-level domain since .com and widely recognized as the most successful new gTLD. As Co-Founder and Board Member of the Afilias consortium, Beyer-Clausen was pivotal in creating the application to ICANN for an unrestricted .info domain. .info was approved as one out of only 7 new top-level domains and is currently being used by more than 5 million Internet users globally.
Most recently, Beyer-Clausen co-founded and headed Trunk Archive - a full service image licensing agency representing the most engaging and sought after contemporary photographers. Beyer-Clausen is involved in philanthropy through his 501(c)(3) private foundation, Happiness Foundation.
