Michael is a Chartered Accountant. He has been a business advisor, corporate financier and entrepreneur for over 20 years.
During that time he has worked all over the world, enjoying different business cultures, disciplines and markets. Lately, he has found himself more focussed on corporate M&A, private and venture capital funding for a variety of businesses. He is a regular speaker on a range of business matters.
He is a Non Executive Director to online travel agent Skoosh.com, to online insurance aggregator Clickcover.com and digital media consultancy Leapfrogg.co.uk.
Previously he was CFO to Laird Technologies, Europe, FD to RDF Group plc, and Group Finance Director to The Ivy Press and digital specialist Ilex Press.
As a Director of EMC’s Corporate Finance team he is a lead advisor to companies and shareholders on acquisitions and disposals, with an emphasis on internet related companies. Michael’s career has included a spell as part of Laid plc’s acquisition and integration team (a FTSE 250 plc), Finance and Acquisitions Director for RDF Group plc (an AIM quoted plc), as well as advising privately owned companies on a variety of transactions, nationally and internationally.
He also acts as an interim and non-executive director in a variety of business sectors.
Michael speaks, internationally, on business matters. As well as running UK businesses, he has also worked in the US, Europe and Japan and is often asked to attend presentations and panels overseas.
Michael joined EMC in 1996 and is a main board director.
