Mr. Michael J. Maia brings over 30 years of experience in the electronics industry to his position as Vice President Worldwide Sales and Marketing. Most recently, he was Vice President Sales and Marketing Americas at Kionix, where he was responsible for product marketing, business development and N. American sales for inertial sensors. Before joining Kionix, Mr. Maia served as Vice President for the Gaming and 3D User-Interface Business Unit at InvenSense, Inc., focused on marketing and system engineering for gaming, TV, toy, sports, medical and consumer appliance markets for MEMS motion processing. Maia developed a strong entrepreneurial background as a co-founder of PortalPlayer, Inc. At PortalPlayer, he developed a unique business model ecosystem for their industry-leading media player technology that resulted in design wins with consumer electronics leaders such as Apple, Samsung, and Philips and, ultimately, an IPO with over $225M in revenue. Prior to that, he held various senior sales and marketing positions at National Semiconductor, Cirrus Logic, and Trident Microsystems where he was instrumental in Trident’s initial public offering.
