As vice president of services and operations, Michael is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience, and he brings over 20 years of industry experience to the task. Prior to Vyatta, Michael was at carrier Ethernet solutions provider Atrica, where he served in a variety of roles. As managing director and general manager of Atrica Systems and Services India, he was responsible for Atrica’s entire operation in India and supported the design, deployment, and operation of the world’s largest Ethernet project, covering the entire country of India. He also served as vice president of business development and consulting engineering, where as the company’s third US employee he was at times responsible for all field functions. Prior to Atrica, Michael spent over seven years at Nortel Networks (Bay Networks/Wellfleet) where among several roles, he served as vice president of customer advocacy, responsible for the company’s “Customer for Life” initiative, and vice president of systems engineering, technical marketing, and knowledge management where he had global responsibility for both carrier and enterprise functions. Prior to Nortel’s acquisition of Bay Networks, Michael served in a variety of executive management roles at Bay Networks and Wellfleet Communications. He also spent eight years in the LSU Office of Telecommunications, architecting and managing voice, data, and video communications services for the LSU System and the State of Louisiana. Michael has a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from LSU, and attended the MIT Sloan School.
