Michael Addicott is a repeat entrepreneur and has worked in the venture capital field. He is president of Cognitive Labs, a cognitive science web services co. at the intersection of health and games.
Notable early stage investment transactions he led or co-led include palo alto-based bamboo.com (IPO-web 1.0), L90 (IPO-web 1.0, technology sold to DoubleClick and in web 2.0 MySpace. He is the person who introduced Euniverse to its primary venture backer, VantagePoint during the dotcom ‘bust’ of 2001-2004, which turned out to be a home run for investors.
Prior to the investor experience, he co-founded supply chain software co. Saltare, and launched UPS Online. His last job at UPS was ‘E-Commerce Group Manager’ at its corporate headquarters. Before that, he was product manager of UPS Online, now ranked no. 73 by Quantcast. In November 1999, UPS raised $5.47 billion in its IPO - the largest IPO of the web 1.0 timeframe, within one week of the more celebrated IPO of Webvan.
He earned a B.A. from UC-Berkeley in Egyptian Hieroglyphics, an M.B.A., and a Doctorate in Information Systems focused on EDI. He is focused on bringing neuroscience to the interactive web.
