Maz Nadjm
Maz Nadjm is the founder of social media agency SoMazi. SoMazi develops solutions with a strategic mindset and framework to help organisations in need of a better social media approach. SoMazi brings 9 years of successful delivery experience at the highest level.
Prior to SoMazi Maz was Director of Social Media at TSL Education, the largest network of teachers in the world. Prior to TSL Maz was the Head of Social Media for the UK Ogilvy Group agencies, one of the UK’s top and largest advertising agencies, leading and co-ordinating the Group’s existing social media specialists, responsible for developing and helping to deliver further social media growth opportunities for the agencies and their clients.
Prior to joining Ogilvy Maz was responsible for Sky’s online (which has over 1 billion monthly page impressions) social media strategy, development and marketing for each Sky site. Within a year of his appointment at Sky, Maz oversaw a 200% increase in engagement on Sky Portal sites. In addition, Maz launched the new Times Online commenting system and was social media advisor to a number of News Corp units, including News International, Star TV, Sky Italy and Fox TV Channels. He also advised Chelsea Football Club and British Forces Broadcasting on social media.
Maz also co-founded one of the UK’s first social media consultancies (rareface.com) back in 2006, as well as InfieldParking.com, a social networking site for NASCAR fans in commercial partnership with its most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr.
In his spare time Maz is a researcher with Oxford Business University, advisor, mentor and judge at start ups, global social media events & awards and University College London. He is the author of Twitter eBook (Co authors include Duncan Bannatyne from Dragon’s Den) and also a TV pundit (interviews include Bloomberg TV and RTE).
