Matthew Murphy is General Manager of Palo Alto, Calif.- based Bling NationÂ®, a provider of mobile technology services. The company connects businesses and consumers through a unique mobile platform that leverages NFC to make mobile payments, earn rewards/loyalty and connect the best of social media to the in-store shopping experience. In his position, Matt leads the companyâ€™s outreach to consumers, financial institutions and businesses throughout the United States.
Prior to Bling Nation, Murphy was the vice president of Marketing at Santa Clara, Calif.-based Chegg.comÂ®, a leading online textbook rental company, where he was responsible for all marketing and acquisition efforts. Prior to Chegg, Murphy served as the director of Product Management for Oakland, Calif.-based Ask.comâ„¢, overseeing Ask Mobile, Ask News, Ask Kids, Ask Deals and new search opportunities for Ask. Murphy also worked as the vice president of Product Development at Learn2Grow.comÂ®, a West Palm Beach, Fla.-based green eLearning site, where he was responsible for Web initiatives and the expansion of the organizationâ€™s revenue potential.
As head of Advertising and Media at New York-based online brokerage firm E*Trade FinancialÂ® Murphy was responsible for global advertising, branding, sponsorships and media efforts and earned several prestigious awards for his work including a Clio, an Effie and a Stevieâ„¢ Award. Murphy earned his Masterâ€™s in Business Administration from William Patterson University, holds a degree in finance from Santa Clara University and attended executive marketing education courses at Northwestern Universityâ€™s Kellogg School of Management.
