Beanstalk Management
Matthew Byatt co-founded Beanstalk in 2005 and is primarily focused on the technology and clean technology sectors. Matthew has over 15 years corporate finance and management consulting experience.
Successfully marrying a deep technical understanding with corporate finance expertise ensures that Matthew’s clients benefit from his strong networks, authoritative advice and execution success. In addition, he has a wealth of commercial due diligence experience and frequently he prepares businesses for divestiture or funding.
Matthew’s most recent transcations include the acquisition of VC-backed Cambridge Positioning Systems and Nordnav by CSR, the divestiture of Norwich-based software company Iceni Technology, the sale of SEO company Netcallidus and private equity investments in PrismaStar and Gennext Energy.
Matthew also lectures at the Henley Business School and is an active mentor on the MBA programme at the University of Cambridge.
Prior to Beanstalk, Matthew worked at the Cambridge-based microprocessor company, ARM Plc in a corporate M&A role. He gained significant blue chip consulting experience through working with McKinsey & Company and technology consulting experience with Symbionics. Matthew has also run and successfully exited his own businesses.
Matthew has a degree in Electronic Engineering and started his career in postgraduate research at the University of Bristol.
