Matt Mireles is a serial entrepreneur, blogger, athlete and adventurer. A former journalist & photographer, his work has appeared in Newsweek, The New York Times and Silicon Alley Insider. Matt currently serves as the CEO of Festive Research, an incubator for products that promote offline social interaction and fun.
Matt is the founder and former CEO of SpeakerText/Humanoid, a diversified technology company that built tools for consumer media sharing as well as crowdsourced labor technologies. SpeakerText was acquired by CloudFactory in August 2012.
Before founding SpeakerText during the financial crisis of 2008, Matt paid his way through Columbia University, working two jobs as a paramedic in Harlem and the South Bronx. A two-time dropout of UC Berkeley, he also drove an ambulance in Southeast Los Angeles and fought wildfires for the US Forest Service as a member of the elite Modoc Interagency Hotshot Crew. Matt is an honors graduate of Columbia University and has received management training from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
