Mary knew what she wanted to do after earning her degree from UCLA and taking her first job at Wells Fargo Bank…help to promote good ideas.
She enrolled in business school at Stanford and served as CEO of Challenge for Charity, Inc., a 501(c)3 which energizes students at seven business schools on the West Coast to raise money for charity. After earning her MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, Mary moved to London to serve as an Associate and then Engagement Manager specializing in Marketing projects all over Europe and the United States.
In 1999, Mary returned to the United States and to a job as Director of Acquisition Marketing at GoTo.com, (later Overture), the first pay-per-click search engine.
After Overture, Mary was co-founder of Ionic Media, a bi-coastal media agency with over $100 million in annual billings and key clients such as Verizon Wireless, Hard Rock, Bausch & Lomb, Marriott and many others. Mary spoke at numerous conferences and training event on the topics of online marketing, search marketing and landing page optimization. She served at Ionic Media for 8 years…until Payoff came along.
Mary is the Chief Marketing Officer for Payoff.com. Payoff is the “Game of Real Life” and a platform for empowering individuals financially. It’s the destination online to fund your dreams. Recognizing that decision making is driven by emotion rather than the rational mind, and taking behavioral insights from the power of online social gaming, Payoff.com is transforming the serious task of tackling personal finance into something fun and novel…into a game!
Mary lives in Granada Hills with her husband and two children and enjoys reading, doing art projects with her kids and raising money for her great local school.
