Martin co-founded ToyTalk and manages the company's engineering effort. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science, has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, authored half a dozen patents, and written two books: "API Design for C++" and "Level of Detail for 3D Graphics." He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
Martin worked for 5 years in the Artificial Intelligence Center at SRI International on distributed 3D terrain visualization technologies. He co-founded a successful effort to create an ISO standard to represent 3D geospatial models on the Web, and was elected as a director of the Web3D Consortium for two consecutive years.
After SRI, Martin moved to Pixar Animation Studios where he worked for 6 years as lead engineer for the studio’s in-house animation system, known as Marionette. This work involved the design and implementation of software to support Academy Award Winning and Nominated films such as “Finding Nemo”, “The Incredibles”, “Cars”, “Ratatouille”, and “WALL-E.” He was also the hair model for Mr. Incredible.
Martin was founder and CEO of Code Reddy Inc. where he managed various projects including improvements to the Second Life client for Linden Lab, an online 3D virtual world that has been used by over 20 million users around the world.
