Martijn Kleijwegt, economist, managing partner of LSP and co-founder, gained extensive experience in the life-sciences sector as general partner of Euroventures Benelux, a EUR 90 million pan-European venture capital fund based in the Netherlands and Belgium. Martijn decided to focus on human life sciences within the Euroventures organization as early as 1988. He has served on the supervisory board of Rhein Biotech (G, NL), Qiagen (G) and Quadrant (UK), amongst others.
In 1998, Martijn co-founded the first LSP fund, which was followed by the second fund in December 2000. Through a large number of investments in the life-sciences sector, he has gained extensive experience in all aspects of biotech venture capital. On behalf of LSP, Martijn served on the supervisory board of Crucell (NL), and he currently serves on the supervisory boards of Kiadis Pharma (NL/CDN), Pronota (B), Prosensa, ActoGenix and Movetis (B). Martijn has a Masters degree in economics from Amsterdam University.
