Harrington’s experience spans industries from publishing to payments and companies from start-ups to Fortune 500s. He’s played instrumental roles in landmark acquisitions worth over a half billion dollars and worked with organizations like Citi, eBay, Fox, Toyota and Google.
As Head of Strategic Client Delivery he sits on Citi Prepaid’s Management Team, overseeing Marketing, Creative, Implementation and Client Services for 1,200+ clients like BMW, Verizon, Whirlpool and GE, leading a team of 30+. Previously, as SVP of Marketing for Ecount he served as GM for its acquisition by Citi for $200+MM in 2007. He’s spearheaded marketing for the division’s global expansion into Europe, Asia and the Middle East and also advised Citi’s Developing Talent Program and served as an executive sponsor for the company’s Women’s Council.
A founding member of Half.com in 1999, he ran Retention Marketing and was the youngest member of the Management Team. Acquired by eBay for $350+MM in 2000, Half became profitable largely due to his vision that evolved the textbook market. Harrington also helped devise “one of the greatest publicity coups in history” (Time Magazine) - Half.com, Oregon.
Harrington co-founded FightOnState.com in 1996 which partnered with Fox Interactive Media in 2004 and is now the No. 1 Penn State sports fan destination online. FightOnState.com has won six Scout Awards including Best Overall Magazine, Best Special Issue and Top Online Subscription Growth Site.
Harrington’s also served strategic marketing roles for Infonautics and Pearson and co-founded the Company Sleuth (PC Magazine Top 100), Sports Sleuth (Yahoo! Top 50) and Job Sleuth properties.
He’s been featured/published in a variety of publications including Sales & Marketing Management, Perspectives, Promo and Treasurer, been an executive panelist for McKinsey and BCG, lectured at schools like Penn State, Boston College, Vanderbilt and Drexel, and advised a multitude of organizations like BEST Leadership Council, Lift For Life, Penn’s Civilians, Big33 and a variety of start-ups.
A Melbourne Wesley Cummings Scholar, he holds a Marketing BS, Honors with Distinction, from The Pennsylvania State University and was honored with business schools prestigious Dorothy M. Kelly Award.
