Mark Charkin, Chief Revenue Officer of The Exchange Lab, is responsible for scaling global revenue and overseeing the company’s advertising strategy. Mark is both a proven digital business leader and a digital media pioneer, with over 15 years of experience leading sales organizations in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
During his career, Mark has focused on driving the bottom line for early stage companies in the online, social, casual gaming and mobile space, and has a long track record of success in building and leading companies from inception to multi-million dollar exits.
Prior to joining The Exchange Lab, Mark was EVP Advertising and business development at King, creators of Candy Crush Saga. In this role, Mark was part of the executive team responsible for building and managing the entire advertising and business development units globally. During his tenure, King grew from 10 million to over 200 million monthly players, while advertising revenue grew over 1000%, cementing King’s position the largest casual game group globally.
Prior to King, Mark was VP Global Sales at Bebo, the Social Network where he joined as the first commercial employee, went on to devise the company’s pioneering engagement model of advertising, and was part of the executive team that led Bebo’s record breaking $850 million acquisition to AOL Time Warner. He has also held senior management positions at MSN and Lycos, where he was EMEA Regional Sales Director and Head Of Sales respectively.
Mark regularly speaks at industry events such as Cannes, IAB, Adtech, and DMEXCO and has been an advisor to a multitude of incubators, VCs and early stage ventures including DN Capital, Chime Ventures, BrightRoll, Seed Camp, Endemol, Moviepilot and Rippll.
