Mark Buchheim has over 17 years of experience with large scale, high performance Internet and broadcast technology infrastructure. As Director of Digital Media and Broadcast Operations for AOL, Mark oversees a large team across two production studios Los Angeles and New York and is responsible for the success of live studio production, post-production, motion graphics, media management, digitizing, compression, and archiving. Almost 1,000 audio and video assets are created and delivered weekly to a diverse set of AOL web properties; amassing a rich media archive of over 180,000 high quality digital files.
Previous to this position Mark held several others at AOL, including Systems Architect and Senior Database Administrator. Before joining AOL, he was integral to launching the popular CalendarLive website for the Los Angeles Times as an Application Developer.
Mark also founded On The Net Yet, Inc., where he oversaw the design and implementation of Internet sites and applications for such companies as AOL Time Warner, MTV, Nickelodeon, Peterson Publishing, EMap USA, FHM Magazine, Teen Magazine, Surfer Magazine, Skateboard Magazine, Snowboard Magazine, Pittard Sullivan, Ironclad.com, EAgents.com and ReelPlay.com.
