Marjorie Yang is a part-time Partner focusing on Redpoint’s operations in China. She concentrates on investment strategy, deal sourcing, government relations, corporate development and portfolio company operations for Redpoint China. In addition, she is also Chairman of Esquel Group, a leading textile and apparel manufacturer with operations throughout the world. Marjorie was a founding member of Esquel in 1978, and was appointed Chairman in 1995. Marjorie has been a Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference since 2003. In Hong Kong, she is Chairman of the Hong Kong-United States Business Council, Chairperson of the Advisory Committee on Admission of Quality Migrants and Professionals, a Member of the Government’s Commission on Strategic Development and the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council. In addition, Marjorie serves as Chairman of the Asia Business Council and Deputy Chairman of the Seoul International Business Advisory Council. Marjorie is concerned with the promotion of education, with a particular interest in the development of young managers. She has been a member of the MIT Corporation since 2001. In 2010, she was appointed as Chairman of the Council of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is currently a member of various advisory boards of Harvard University, Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan School of Management, Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management and an honorary member of the Court of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Marjorie earned a B.S. from MIT and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
