Hi! I just joined the PatientsLikeMe team in mid-April 2013. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to leverage my background in software architecture and biotechnology to help patients advocate for their needs.
I have been a software architect, CTO, and technical manager at many different companies, but became passionately interested in
genetics when my late husband was diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP, a rare brain/neurological disease) in 1999. In many respects, my joining PatientsLikeMe feels like a wonderfully satisfying culmination of my past 12+ years working in genetic research, medical imaging, and the clinical laboratory.
I spent over six years as Director of Informatics for the Program in Medical and Population Genetics at the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard, and came to PatientsLikeMe from Good Start Genetics, a molecular diagnostics lab.
