Cem Sertoglu is an investor and entrepreneur with a successful track record. Prior to iLab, Cem was the Managing Director of SP Ventures, an seed-stage venture capital firm, and CEO of Mondus.net, a Turkish social networking platform. Before his move to Istanbul in 2005, Cem served as the CEO of SelectMinds, which he co-founded in 1999. SelectMinds is the leading global provider of proven, Corporate Social Networking solutions, helping organizations build connections among and between groups of employees, alumni, and other constituencies to increase knowledge sharing and productivity across the enterprise.
Before SelectMinds, Cem was the Vice President in charge of U.S. operations for Farmer & Co., a strategy consulting firm based in London, that specializes in helping professional service firms improve their strategies and operations. Prior to FCO, Cem was a Business Unit Manager at KTI, a leader in enterprise knowledge management solutions, and an Engagement Manager at IMS, which was subsequently acquired by AT Kearney.
Cem holds an Economics degree from The University of Texas at Austin. He has been a frequent speaker and contributor on industry topics on CNNfn, Bloomberg TV, Fast Company, The Economist, Inc. Magazine and Darwin Magazine, as well as academic institutions (including lectures at Princeton University, Columbia University, and Nyenrode University in the Netherlands). He has also had an article published in Harvard Business Review.
