Lyndon Rive is the chief executive officer of SolarCity. He co-founded SolarCity in July 2006 with the goal of significantly reducing the cost of solar power and building a trusted national brand adopted by millions of homes. In its first full year of operation, SolarCity became the largest residential solar power provider in California, and by early 2008, SolarCity was a full-service solar power company—providing design, financing, installation, monitoring and services. Lyndon has grown SolarCity has grown to over 300 employees , serving more than 300 communities in three states in its first two years of existence. Prior to SolarCity, Lyndon founded Everdream, an industry leader in software and services for large-scale distributed computer management. Lyndon negotiated the company’s partnership with Dell Computer, which acquired Everdream in 2007. A lifelong entrepreneur, Lyndon founded his first company at the age of 17 in South Africa, and in his spare time has been a member of the U.S. National Underwater Hockey Team.
