Lorenzo Barbantini Scanni
Business Development exec with broad experience in all aspects of the sales, accounting and localization process.
Direct experience with the leading Italian telcos. Launched live TV, on demand video services on 2.5/3 G and UMTS hosted video services. Now active in the OSS and BSS Telco space.
Lorenzo was born in Rome December 1966 were he lives today. He traveled constantly in Europe, Middle East and the Americas where he spent long periods both for pleasure and business. He speaks fluent English, German, Spanish and French.
He began his managerial career in 1994 at the Orbit Communications Company SpA, Television Arabia as Manager of Marketing and Distribution Manager with responsibility for 24 countries in the Middle East. He joined for the launch of the first digital television network in the world in the Middle East and left when the company reached only 600 people.
In 1998 he managed the Italian activities for Netgem, a French company that brought the Internet on TV. In one year the Italian market NetGem becomes the first European in terms of sales with the launch of Freedomland.
He was part of the team of managers who in 1999 launched the web project Kataweb of the Espresso media Group.
Always in search for convergence between TV and the Internet he worked in RAINET Internet portal of the Italian State broadcaster, as VP Marketing, here he created the launch strategy, managed the marketing of the portal RAINET and all related promotional activities. He developed “digital extension” strategy for RAI programs.
In 2001 he met the start-up Kelyan Lab and became head of sales first and then partner. A number of services that created an innovative and distinctive offer for Telecom Italia were developed. The launch of Mobile TV and value added services that open up the market for mobile applications are all successes of that time.
Th company was sold in December 2007 to the Group Engineering Ingegneria Informatica SpA and he was appointed CEO of Xaltia SpA (formerly Kelyan Lab SpA).
In February 2009 he also assumed the position of Key Account for the Telecom Italia and developed the system integration offer.
Since January 2010 he has taken over the Media market for Engineering were the company is seeking to position itself as a player.
