Lewis Cirne is the founder and CEO of New Relic, recently funded Software as a Service company focused on providing application performance management solutions for Ruby on Rails Applications. The company is funded by Benchmark Capital.
Most recently, Mr. Cirne was an entrepreneur in residence at benchmark. He founded Wily Technology in 1998, built the company into a market leader in web application performance management, and invented its flagship product, Introscope.
Mr. Cirne served as Wily’s president and CEO until 2001, and then as CTO, leading the company through eight years of consistent sales growth and its 2006 acquisition by CA, Inc.
He holds seven patents, including four related to Wily’s core technology. Earlier in his career he held senior engineering positions at Apple and Hummingbird Communications.
