Lawrence Ng is an entrepreneur and businessman. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Oversee.net, a company he co-founded in 2000 at the age of 21 and led as its Chief Executive Officer until 2008. With an initial personal investment of $10,000 funded mostly with credit card debt and no outside funding, he steadily grew Oversee.net from an Internet start-up to a profitable enterprise with over $200 million in revenue and 200 employees throughout offices in Los Angeles, Florida, and Portland. The company became a leader in domain name services and online consumer travel, financial service, and retail businesses. Oversee’s portfolio of consumer web businesses includes LowFares.com, AboutAirportParking.com®, CreditCards.org, and ShopWiki.com.
Oversee.net was named to the Inc. 500 and ranked in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50. The company was also named “Internet and New Media Company of the Year” by the Technology Council of Southern California. In addition, Lawrence won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 award for the Greater Los Angeles program in the technology category.
In 2008, Lawrence sold the majority of his interest in Oversee.net to Oak Hill Capital upon a $150 million investment in the firm.
Prior to founding Oversee, Lawrence worked at Startpath.com, an Internet advertising start-up, and held positions with Smith Barney, Merrill Lynch, and Leboeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae while attending college. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
