Kristal Bergfield is Director of Strategy & Business Development in OPEN, the small business division at American Express. Kristal is a proven deal maker, leading a team that identifies and develops vital new revenue streams by forming strategic partnerships with digital media companies. Additionally, Kristal created and manages the revenue generation program for OPENForum.com, American Express’ award-winning social network for small business. In that capacity, she develops and manages relationships with American Express’ largest global partners, such as FedEx and Marriott, to integrate their brands into the site. Prior to this role, Kristal was the chief-of-staff for the president of the small business division, helping to manage and develop strategies across all operating units, and was a key player in developing new distribution channels with retail banks. Prior to American Express, Kristal worked in public relations, managing communications programs for several of Microsoft’s Windows Server products, and in advertising.
