Koen Verhagen

After finishing his Communication Studies in 1997 Koen co-founded AyZee, one of the first online advertising agencies in the Netherlands. He left AyZee to become co-founder/co-owner of .bone, where he was creative director. Verhagen created award-winning work for mayor advertisers including Monsterboard, Hewlett Packard, Staatsloterij, Pepsi, ABN AMRO, MSN a.o. .bone won Best Dutch interactive agency award in 2008.

Verhagen was a jurymember of several advertising-awards including Spin Awards, ADCN, Magneet and EFFIE (2004-2007). He left .bone in 2009 to broaden his creative horizon. In 2011 he co-founded Skylines.

Verhagen is also co-founder of MaartenMemorial (2004-) A Dutch charity event to commemorate a friend, who died of cancer at the age of 27. Each year 100 exotic sportcars take cancerpatients to the Zandvoort racetrack to let them forget their illness for one day. The event raised €750.000 so far which helped funding the Maarten van Sten laboratory for Cancerresearch at the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam.
