Kim Werker is a writer, editor, crafter, and online media enthusiast. In late 2008 she left her job as editor of Interweave Crochet magazine and sold CrochetMe.com, which she had launched in 2004 and which grew first as an online magazine and then as a strong community of innovative crocheters from all over the world.
Kim currently is currently the VP Community and Community Advocate at LexPublica, and she writes at http://makeandmeaning.com, http://crochetme.com/blog, http://thecreativelife.net and at her own blog, http://kimwerker.com
She has written six books: Teach Yourself Visually Crocheting (Wiley, 2006), Get Hooked: Simple Steps To Crochet Cool Stuff (Watson-Guptill, 2006), Get Hooked Again: Simple Steps To Crochet More Cool Stuff (Watson-Guptill, 2007), Crochet Visual Quick Tips (Wiley, 2007), Crochet Me: Designs to Fuel the Crochet Revolution (Interweave, 2007) and Crocheted Gifts (Interweave, 2009),
Kim has written for Interweave Crochet, Crochet Today, Knit.1, Yarn Market News and Interweave Knits magazines, and she occasionally designs funky dolls for fun and publication.
She lives in Vancouver, BC.
