Kevin Chou has over 18 years of experience representing individuals and companies in a variety of industries and areas. He is the founder of Kevin Chou Legal, an in-house legal executive and law firm attorney that support the legal needs of its clients. Prior to founding Kevin Chou Legal, he was most recently senior counsel, digital for Amazon.com, Inc., where he held primary responsibility for the legal support of numerous businesses, including the Amazon Appstore, digital video games and software, and a number of retail businesses.
Prior to joining Amazon, Chou served as vice president and general counsel of Glu Mobile, taking Glu Mobile through its IPO and leading Glu Mobile’s legal department. Before Glu Mobile, he was senior counsel for Knight Ridder, a newspaper and media company, and served as the general counsel for Knight Ridder Digital, the digital division of Knight Ridder with 40% compounded annual growth, until the acquisition of Knight Ridder by The McClatchy Company.
Prior to Knight Ridder, Chou served as associate general counsel of The Thomas Kinkade Company, an art and licensing company based on the works of artist Thomas Kinkade. He was also a member of the Corporate Group of Fenwick & West LLP in Silicon Valley, where his practice included general business and startup counseling, venture capital financing, technology law, mergers and acquisitions, and securities; and a member of the Corporate and Real Estate Groups of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP in San Francisco, where his practice included corporate law, corporate and secured finance, and real estate.
Chou holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School.
