Kelly Burke has worked in the graphic design community since 1981. She is active in the development of her profession as a juried member (MGDC) of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada. Kelly currently holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Design Division at NSCAD University but still participates in client projects.
The “big idea†is Kelly’s main contribution to the numerous branding strategies and advertising campaigns conceived at Burke & Burke. Kelly’s innate ability to visualize and communicate a winning concept is evidenced in the illustrative flair and subtle wit applied to her work. While her experience at NSCAD University provides a unique insight into, (and an indelible influence on) a new generation of creative minds.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and a diploma in Commercial Design from Holland College.
She has received awards in the Dimensional Illustrators Awards Show in New York for her work in three dimensional fabric illustration, and from Nova Scotia Festivals and Events, for her work with Festival Bras d’Or. Kelly’s work has been featured in many business news and retail industry publications, including Retail Ad World (New York), Tactics Magazine (Vancouver), Business Voice Magazine (Halifax), and allNovaScotia.com (Halifax).
