Kathleen Philips has served as General Counsel to Zillow since July 2010. In addition to managing Zillow legal, Kathleen is responsible for M&A, Customer Support and Human Resources. Kathleen is a recognized leader in her field and has received numerous awards including: Puget Sound Business Journal’s 2012 Outstanding Corporate Counsel of the Year, Seattle Business Magazine’s 2013 General Counsel of the Year and San Francisco Business’ Times 2012 Corporate Counsel of the Year finalist.
Before joining Zillow, Kathleen served as General Counsel for FanSnap, a search engine for live event tickets. Kathleen also has served as General Counsel for Pure Digital Technologies (the maker of the Flip Video camcorder), StubHub and Hotwire. Kathleen began her legal career in private practice at Cooley Godward and Stoel Rives. Kathleen began her legal career at Cooley Godward in San Francisco, and Stoel Rives in Portland, Oregon.
She earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a juris doctor degree with honors from the University of Chicago.
