Karin Gilford

Karin Gilford is Vice President and General Manager of Yahoo Entertainment. She oversees all programming, content and overall business strategies for Yahoo Entertainment’s consumer Web sites, including Yahoo Movies, Yahoo Television and Yahoo Celebrity. Gilford is based in Yahoo’s Santa Monica offices. Prior to her general manager role at Yahoo Entertainment, she was Director of On-Demand Services for Yahoo Music. In that position, Gilford was charged with overseeing the strategy and development of digital music services and products to provide Yahoo consumers the most comprehensive music experience on the Web. Gilford spearheaded the successful launch of the Yahoo Music Jukebox application and its subscription service, Yahoo MusicUnlimited. Gilford helped guide the development of Yahoo Music’s on-demand services across various distribution channels including digital living room, mobile and access partners.

Prior to her current position, Gilford was Director of Business Development for LAUNCH , the music destination on Yahoo, where she fostered and managed strategic relationships with major consumer electronics companies to help drive Yahoo’s continued participation within the connected device marketplace. Prior to joining LAUNCH, Gilford worked in Business Development for Paramount Pictures where she developed financial models and business plans for output deals and identified opportunities to exploit Paramount Pictures filmed entertainment products in foreign markets. Previously, Gilford served in Ernst & Young’s Audit, Assurance, and Business Advisory Services Group’s entertainment practice. Gilford holds a BA in business administration from Cal State Northridge, and a MBA from the University of Southern California.

In July 2008 Gilford left Yahoo and joined Comcast Interactive Media.
