Kambiz Hooshmand has spent more than 25 years building communications systems and solutions for wireless and wireline infrastructure. Most recently, Kambiz was the President and CEO of Applied Micro where he transformed the company into the leading provider of semiconductor solutions for Optical Transport Networks.
Previously, Kambiz held a number of senior executive positions at Cisco Systems including Group Vice President and General Manager responsible for Core Routing. In this role he was responsible for the launch of Cisco’s CRS family of carrier grade platforms. Today these platforms carry more than 60% of the global internet traffic.
Kambiz began his executive career as an integral member of the team that built Stratacom into a global provider of switching platforms for data services. Stratacom was eventually acquired by Cisco for $4.5B.
Kambiz is the Chairman of the Board at Infinera and sits on the Board of Power-One, a leading provider of power and alternative energy solutions. He holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Stanford University.
