Julio Alonso is founder and CEO of Weblogs SL, a company that publishes some 40 vertical blogs in Spanish, including widely read and respected Xataka, Motorpasión, Genbeta and Trendencias. Weblogs SL was founded in January 2005 and is privately owned.
Prior to founding Weblogs SL Alonso was a management consultant for over 10 years, holding Partner positions at DiamondCluster International and later at Intelica Venture Partners (a small strategy boutique he founded in 2003 with three other partners and which is now part of Roland Berger).
Alonso is a well know Internet expert in the Spanish market, having been nominated twice (2009 and 2010) to El Mundo’s list of top 25 influential persons on the internet in Spain. He was also featured in the cover of El PaÃs weekly magazine in October 2009. He is coauthor of the 2006 book “Blogs, la conversación en internet que está revolucionando medios, empresas y ciudadanos”.
