Julie Steiner is the founder and president of Percy 3DMedia, a creative web service company that encourages people to ‘put yourself in the picture’ through personal 3D visual effects.
Percy 3D’s ‘PercyFX’ App integrates personalized content with clip templates from Hollywood movies, allowing end-users to create custom videos available for sharing across multiple platforms.
Steiner has over twenty years of post-production experience. Prior to founding Percy 3DMedia, Steiner served as director of strategic accounts at Side Effects Software where she expanded its traditional customer base through strategic partnerships. Before joining the 3D visual effects software company, Steiner honed her sales skills at Deluxe Entertainment Services Groups, where she represented Deluxe Post Production.
Over the course of six years, Steiner’s expertise expanded to include business development where she was instrumental in developing a globally integrated web-based solution that resulted in a multi-million dollar revenue stream for the company’s post-production division. In the 1990s, Steiner was first introduced to the post-production world at Sullivan Entertainment, a multi-media company that has produced and merchandised some of Canada’s biggest brand-name exports, including the Anne of Green Gables and Road to Avonlea franchises. Starting straight out of graduate school, Steiner quickly worked her way up to executive in charge of post production leading a team of sixty creative and post-production employees and contractors.
Steiner earned a B.A. from McGill University in Montreal and a Masters in Radio, TV & Film from Northwestern University. Through her extensive relationships in the industry, Steiner continues to push the boundaries of technology-focused entertainment.
