Joerg Blumtritt (*1970) is a media and communications expert.
Currently assigned as Managing Director at MediaCom Germany, part of WPP, he is also founder and chairman of the German Social Media Association (AG Social Media). Together with Sabria David and Benedikt Koehler, Joerg wrote the Slow Media Manifesto and blogs on slow-media.net and kuirejo.net.
After his graduation in statistics and political sciences he worked as a researcher in behavioural sciences, focused on nonverbal communication. Projects had been funded by EU commission, German federal government and the Max-Planck-Society.
Subsequently he worked in marketing, research and business development for TV-channels ProSiebenSat.1, RTL II, magazine publisher Hubert Burda Media and has esteblished the European operations for New York based video ad-network Tremor Video.
Together with his wife Sigrid Schwarz, Joerg runs www.galerieroyal.de, an off-space and gallery for contemporary art in Munich.
