Jonathan York is an entrepreneur and educator who has dedicated his career to helping companies succeed and students learn the issues of entrepreneurship. After a 30 year career as a CEO in multiple industries, he recently joined the faculty of the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Here he serves as the first professor dedicated to entrepreneurship, where he is focused on helping students understand and experience the challenges of management and decision-making in growth companies. He is also the Co-founder and Director of the Cal Poly Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and serves as a Managing Partner at Entrepreneur’s Trusted Partner.
He has a B.A. from Yale and Ph.D. in Psychology from Michigan State. He also studied at the London School of Economics and has attended the Aspen Institute program on technology leadership. He now sits on the boards of several private technology companies and has worked on numerous civic boards in areas as diverse as low-income housing and the arts.
