Jonathan Sharp has been passionate about the internet and web development since 1996. In the years that followed, Jonathan has worked in a variety of settings from the small startup (yes it was in a garage) to large enterprise organizations such as Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, Nebraska. Jonathan’s technical background crosses all stacks of architecture from hardware and networking (a former CCNA) up through front-end development and user experience. Jonathan’s background additionally includes a variety of technologies from an open source LAMP stack to J2EE to ASP.NET MVC. The diversity of this experience is focused on front-end architecture and the integration between various layers of an application in an enterprise setting.
Jonathan became involved with The jQuery Project in early 2006 when he first started using jQuery in developing enterprise applications. Since then his involvement and support of the project has grown to include being elected to the jQuery Team in 2008 where he works on project infrastructure such as keeping jquery.com online. In addition to being a jQuery Team Member, Jonathan is also a co-author of the jQuery Cookbook (O’Reilly 2009) and presents on jQuery at conferences such as The jQuery Conference (2008/9) and StackOverflow Dev Days, Austin. Jonathan also runs the Omaha jQuery Meetup and speaks at other local groups and events. In additional to speaking, Jonathan has conducted enterprise training for jQuery. Specialties
