Update

Currently the COO of MediaSpike, John has been creating and leading Web startups since 1994.

Most recently, John was the Founder/GM of pioneering social TV startup, Tunerfish (a business unit of Comcast Interactive Media), which launched innovative partnerships with HBO, Showtime, CBS, NBC, and Sony Pictures, among others. Prior to that, John was the VP of Marketing and a key member of the leadership team that turned around Plaxo, one of the pioneering social media sites, leading to its acquisition by Comcast in 2008. Since 1994, John has led some combination of product, marketing, and business development for a total of seven web startups (four venture-backed; three within other companies). Along the way, he has been a driving force behind many industry firsts, including: the first commercial HTML editor, the first Java licensing deal, the first Java IDE, the first line of turnkey web servers, and the first commercial website sponsorship deal (Hotwired, 1994). John has an MBA from Stanford GSB and an SB from M.I.T.
