John Mark Ivey is Global Knowledge’s Social Media Go-To-Guy, managing their corporate, regional, and product-line twitter accounts, in addition to LinkedIn Student Group, Faceboo presence, Digg feed, and YouTube channel. He is a well-rounded communications professional with a background in PR, advertising, media relations, and graphic design.
He launched TriangleNetwork, a networking group for marketing and technology folks in the Triangle, as well as Triangle_Jobs twitter for job-seekers in the Triangle.
John Mark received his Apple Macintosh Computer Technician certification while serving as an IT Support Specialist at the Raleigh News & Observer/McClatchy Interactive.
Originally hired as a copywriter, he served as Corporate Communications Manager at Channel Master Satellite during the company’s launch of the 16-inch “small-dish” satellite system.
A former journalist, John Mark received the North Carolina Press Association’s Investigative Reporting award for a series of articles he contributed to while a reporter/photographer at the Chatham News & Record.
During a four-year stint at the Smithfield Herald, we wrote a weekly column entitled “Beyond the Fold.”
He was served on the Board of Directors of the Ava Gardner Museum since 1995.
