John has been involved in marketing and business development for over a decade. He began his career in advertising at Merkley & Partners as a copywriter on the Mercedes and Citigroup accounts.
He then joined six-time Adweek Agency of the Year, Cliff Freeman & Partners, creating TV campaigns for Snapple, Quiznos, Sports Authority and the re-branding of TBS.
In 2005, he launched and became CEO of a restaurant company in New York City called Swich. The concept opened to critical acclaim from publications, such as the New York Times, TimeOut and New York Magazine and built a loyal following of customers through a number of creative marketing initiatives.
He grew Swich to two locations, 44 employees and more than $2 million in revenue before the giant magnet of Silicon Valley got a hold of him.
John graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Colgate University and also attended the Miami Ad School. He is a board member of the Success Charter Network and Education Reform Now.
