John Gannon is a general partner in our Boston office. John joined Polaris in June 1998.
Experience: Prior to Polaris, John was chief financial officer of Firefly Network Inc., which was sold to Microsoft in 1998. Before Firefly Network, John held a number of positions at Powersoft Corporation, including chief financial officer and treasurer. During his tenure at Powersoft, from 1992 to 1995, the company grew annual sales from $21 million to over $200 million. John was instrumental in the company’s successful initial public offering in 1993 and the sale to Sybase Corporation for $1 billion.
John came to Powersoft from Trinzic Corporation, where he was chief financial officer, and Cullinet Software, Inc. where he held the positions of vice president of administration and treasurer. Prior to Cullinet, he was a certified public accountant for Coopers & Lybrand.
Boards: John represents Polaris on the boards of directors of Antenna Software, Asempra, Centive, CodeRyte, Emo Labs, Watchfire, and Wrenchead.
Education: John received his BA in accounting from Northeastern University. He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
