John Duncan is currently a sole practitioner acting as outside general counsel for several private companies. He was formerly the General Counsel at Slide, Inc. He was a member of Slide’s management team since 2005. As an attorney, Duncan focused on corporate governance, taxation and intellectual property law.
Prior to Slide, Duncan was an attorney with several leading law firms with significant private equity practices, including Venture Law Group, Nixon Peabody, LLP, and Shearman & Sterling. He was also an investment banker with Bank of America Securities.
Duncan received his J.D and Masters of Laws degrees from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Slavic Languages from Stanford University. He is an avid sailor and the father of two boys.
