As a serial entrepreneur, John has spent the past 25 years building successful businesses worldwide, across a number of industries. For example there’s the marketing and design services firm he launched in his college dorm room, which within five years was the twelfth fastest growing private company in America. Then there’s the consumer advocacy network which today has over half a million members nationwide. John has turned single storefronts into multi-location operations, taken consulting businesses global, and has seen ongoing success with multiple software ventures, from the days of 1200 baud modems to today.
John’s impact as a pioneer is widely recognized. He was voted Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year†for New England, selected as a “High Tech All Star†by Mass High Tech, named to the Boston Business Journal’s “40 under 40†list, and was a national finalist for the Harvard Business School Club of New York’s “America’s Entrepreneur Award.†One of his companies was even nominated for a British Academy Award. He frequently is profiled in both business and general interest publications. “If you want to see where the economy is headed,†wrote one, “look at where Chuang’s company is going.†He is a sought after speaker and author, and he currently sits on the boards of Angie's List and CareerSoft. John earned both an AB cum laude and an MBA with honors from Harvard University.
