John is a General Partner with the Highland Consumer Fund focusing on consumer goods and services. John serves on the board of City Sports and has been involved in Highland’s investment in Pharmaca. Over the course of his investing career, John has been involved in private equity and debt financing totaling over $150 million.
Background Prior to joining Highland Consumer Fund, John was a Vice President with Highland Capital Partners. Previously, John was a Vice President with Summit Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm investing in growth stage companies, where he focused on growth equity financing, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, management buyouts and divestitures. While at Summit, he concentrated his investment activity within the healthcare services, consumer products, business services and technology industries. John also spent five years at Merrill Lynch & Co. in its Business Financial Services Group. He was a nationally recognized sales manager working with private New England based companies.
