Joel Milne is a creator, builder, and serial entrepreneur who has been at the forefront of the digital (r)evolution throughout his career. His depth of experience across the various sectors of the industry, from funding to team-building to hands-on tech development, and his ability to integrate these disciplines have led him to a specialized focus on and passion for consumer-facing products. Most recently, Milne is focusing on creating products that matter to people and make a positive impact on their lives with the upcoming launch of two new platforms.
As the co-founder and former COO/CTO of the seven-year old “start up” ScoreBig, Milne created a consumer brand that has helped millions of customers save on live entertainment. There he applied his exceptional talent for building companies from the ground up, raising over $50M in venture capital and growing ScoreBig to approximately 80 employees. Last year, ScoreBig was ranked 44 on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500™, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing tech companies in North America, and was ranked #7 in Los Angeles.
Prior to ScoreBig, Milne founded SeasonTicket.com. Considered one of the pioneering companies in the secondary ticketing marketplace. Milne guided the company to become the leader in season ticketing software, with over 50 professional sports teams as customers. SeasonTicket.com was acquired by a national ticketing company after just 18 months.
Milne’s resume also includes serving as co-founder and CEO of Ivize, a litigation services company that he evolved from a regional provider with 75 employees to a national leader with over 500 employees. His first startup venture was nCode Technologies, a profitable software consulting company that he founded out of college.
Milne showcased a mind for technical innovation early on – first programming at age eight and enrolling in college at age 16. He received a BS in engineering from Queen's University in his native Canada before going on to earn an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School. Milne currently resides in Los Angeles and is father to three awesome kids.
