Joel Brown has been Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations at OpenTable since 2001. OpenTable is the leading supplier of reservation, table management and guest management software for restaurants. In addition, the company operates www.opentable.com, the world’s leading website for online restaurant reservations. Brown built and leads the Client Relations, Field Operations, and Customer Support teams.
Prior to OpenTable, Brown was Executive Vice President at Charitableway, an application service provider linking businesses and the nonprofit sector. There he built and led the business operations, product management, customer service, charity relations and account management teams.
Prior to joining Charitableway, Brown spent eight years at Intuit, the leading provider of Internet and desktop finance solutions for consumers and small businesses. As Vice President and General Manager, he led the re-engineering of the Financial Supplies Group’s business which radically improved customer satisfaction, marketing effectiveness and profitability. He then built the Employer Services organization that launched a revolutionary Internet-based payroll service for small businesses.
Before Intuit, Brown worked at Power Up Software, Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath (a leading operations consulting firm for hi-tech clients) and Arthur Andersen & Co (now Accenture). He has a BS in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
