Joe Wakeford / Fondomat
Originally from Surrey, England, musician, producer and entrepreneur Joe Wakeford graduated from the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in 1998 with Honours in contemporary music.
MUSIC: Joe co-founded, and actively works at, Halfpenny Studios. His work involves song-writing and producing music for clients around the world alongside lyricists Lars E. Carlsson (European hit writer) and Albert Hammond (US hit writer). Halfpenny Studios produce music for bands, solo artists, record companies as well as BBC Radio and theatre. Working associations include Duffy, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Boyzone, Herbie Flowers (David Bowie, Elton John and Lou Reed), Arnold McCuller (James Taylor and Phil Collins), Skunk Anansie (Mark Richardson and Ace), Republica (Pete Riley), Bee Gees, Alvin Stardust, Jeremy Healy (Haysi Fantayzee), BBC Radio, BBC Television, Willie Logan, Mel G, Lucie Bila, Leapy Lee… and many more!
BUSINESS: In June 2010 Joe conceived, financed and begun operating the free, safe and secure social network website Folkdirect. In February 2011 Joe co-founded the crowdfunding website Fondomat. Fundraisers are able to realise their dreams, help those in need or fund their next project via Fondomat’s social networking tools (for free). This was set-up with business partner Conrad Watts and is available in English and Czech language versions.
