Jim is the Co-founder, President & Chief Marketing Office at Votigo, Inc.
Jim is an award-winning Internet marketing executive with over 12 years of experience building and marketing world-class consumer websites and software for startups and public companies. He is responsible for strategic vision, sales and marketing, user experience and design. Before founding Votigo, Jim spent almost 7 years at United Online, Inc. where he was a key member of the executive staff helping take it from 1 million users to over 20 million. As Vice President of Interactive Jim directed a world-wide team of developers and designers and was responsible for helping to define the marketing and product strategy as well as the consumer experience for the majority of United Online’s products and brands including NetZero and Juno ISP, NerZero VOIP, Webmail and portal products. Prior to United Online, Jim helped start a number of Internet companies including AimTV, Inc. (acquired by NetZero) where he was the Director of Web Development. Previously, he was the Director of Web Development for Nine O’clock New Media and began his career as a Web Developer for RandomNoise, Inc. (acquired by Vignette). Jim holds his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Since co-founding Votigo, Risner has helped several leading consumer brands, including Victoria’s Secret PINK, ConocoPhillips, and Gardenburger, as well as top-tier advertising and marketing agencies, like AMP Agency, Alloy, Resource Interactive, Fleishman-Hillard, and MWW Group, develop and implement social media marketing campaigns.
