Jens Eilstrup was a member of Google’s technical staff until January 2013, and is the inventor behind Google Maps and Google Wave.
Jens Eilstrup is the inventor and co-founder of Where 2 Technologies, with his brother Lars. Where 2 Technologies was acquired by Google in 2004. Jens, together with his brother Lars, and the team from Where 2 Technologies joined Google where he worked as one of the lead engineers in the small team that turned this acquisition into Google Maps, launched in early 2005, and now used by ~1 billion users around the world.
Jens is the inventor and co-founder of the Google Wave effort. Google Wave was introduced in 2009, at the Google I/O 2009, and was subsequently closed down by Google in 2010.
