Jennifer Hyman is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Rent the Runway, a business that has transformed the retail industry by making designer dress and accessory rentals a convenient and accessible luxury experience for millions of women. Since Rent the Runway’s launch in November 2009, Jennifer has had led and built all areas of the business and currently oversees marketing, technology, product, and analytics. Since conceiving the idea for Rent the Runway, Jennifer has been the driver of innovation behind the business and was recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of the “12 Most Disruptive Names in 2013.”

Jennifer has been honored with several other recognitions including Fortune Magazine’s “Trailblazers 2013,” “Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs,” Chief Marketing Officer of the “Executive Dream Team,” and “40 Under 40”; Crain’s New York Business “40 Under 40”; Inc. Magazine’s “Top 30 Under 30”; Fast Company’s “Most Influential Women in Technology”; and’s “Most Influential People in New York Fashion.” She has also appeared as a guest on NBC’s Today Show and ABC’s Good Morning America, among many others. Jennifer co-founded Rent the Runway with her Harvard Business School classmate Jennifer Fleiss. The company has received approximately $54 million in venture capital from Bain Capital Ventures, Highland Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Condé Nast’s parent company Advance Publications, American Express and Novel TMT Ventures. With over 4 million members, 250 employees and over 200 designer brands, Rent the Runway is pioneering an apparel business in the new sharing economy with the overall mission to democratize luxury for women everywhere.

Prior to Rent the Runway, Jennifer was the Director of Business Development at IMG where she focused on the creation of new media businesses for IMG's Fashion Division. She also ran an online advertising sales team at and was an in-house entrepreneur at Starwood Hotels, creating Starwood’s first wedding business which was recognized on the Oprah Winfrey Show for its innovation.

Jennifer received her BA from Harvard University and MBA from Harvard Business School. She currently resides in New York City where she is a member of both the Entrepreneurship Board at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Women in Business Board at Harvard University.
